The Chinese Showcase opens up opportunities for emerging musical talents from those of East Asian heritage and gives an insight into what they have to offer in today’s ever musically aspired industry. Suki Mok (Producer/Guitarist)
Suki started learning the guitar in his teens playing on the influences of Led Zeplin, Nirvana, Guns N Roses, RHCPs and Beyond. He completed a degree in architecture before decided to chase his dream and study music.
What followed was a journey of discovery, working odd jobs, meeting musicians, mentors and friends from every background; studying sound engineering at IMW, moving on to Drumtech and then settling at the Guitar Institute in Acton wheres he completed a BMus degree. Currently a qualified Guitar instructor, Suki teaches students of all ages as well as playing for numerous bands and producing for other artists.
His musical inspirations are far and wide, incliding, Nitin Sawhney, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Incubus, Hendrix, JB, Damien Rice, Ryuichi Sakamoto, MIles Davis, Neptunes, Jeff Buckley and the much-missed Wong Kar Kui.
