華人參政: 張敬龍正式遞交參選表格

英國華人參政計劃成員，本台DJ張敬龍，五月七日正式宣佈參加歐洲議會選舉，掀起了英國華人關心政治的熱潮。張敬龍是2009年度戴安娜皇妃大獎之得獎者之一，現年十九歲，如果成功當選，將成為歐洲議會最年青的議員，亦為首位參加該選舉之英國華人。

倫敦華人社區中心於2009年4月5日, 在倫敦 “蘇比”體育中心舉辦華人社區運動日，反應熱烈，年齡最小為11歲, 最大為81歲, 大家憑著友誼第一, 比賽第二, 及團體合作的精神, 興致勃勃參加各項比賽｡運動日希望提倡奧運精神, 推廣健康生活及體育運動，得到英國六合彩基金 “Award For All” 的贊助 ｡

當日比賽的項目包括: 5人足球賽, 羽毛球, 乒乓球, 60米跑步, 太極, 拔河, 以及老少喜愛的匙羹賽及二人三足賽等｡ 共有150人參加此項活動, 參賽者有來自蘇格蘭, 曼切斯特。

　　英國多個華人社團今日發起【一人一鎊支持張敬龍參選大行動】，為十九歲的華人青年張敬龍籌募經費，參加本屆歐洲議會選舉。張敬龍對各地華人的支持表示感謝，有信心能夠在四月底之前達到第一階段籌款目標，取得五千英鎊繳付選舉按金。歐洲議會之入場費高昂，選舉按金，比參加地區選舉高出十倍。

張敬龍是2009年度戴安娜皇妃大獎之得獎者之一，現年十九歲，若參加選舉，預計將為歐洲議會選舉最年青的參選人，亦為首位參加該選舉之英國華人。

英國華人參政計劃成員張敬龍在本週二（四月七日）宣佈有意參加競選，數日之間已籌得一千六百一十英鎊。在倫敦華埠宣佈【一人一鎊行動】之後，不少華人均即時捐款表示支持。他說：「部份商戶將會放置捐獻箱，又表示將會進行義賣，也有朋友計劃舉辦音樂會募捐，令人看到華人團結的力量。儘管一鎊的價值不高，但倫敦有二十萬華人，只要一人一鎊，我們便可以有足夠的經費，正式競選。更重要的是，捐贈來自普羅大眾，我的競選就有了他們的實質參與，我的政綱自然會更迎合他們的需要，我為華人爭取權益時，也便更有代表性了。」

Princess Diana Award winner Steven Cheung confirmed his intention to seek nomination to stand in the forthcoming European Election. At just 19, he could become the youngest ever Member of the European Parliament if elected.

A member of nthe BC, British Chinese project, Cheung was born in Hong Kong and grew up in London. His father is Chinese and his mother from Philippines. He remembered his arrival in the UK when he was 11, “It is often difficult for immigrants like us to settle in a new country, trying to maintain our cultural identity, while at the same time under pressure to integrate into the society at large.”

英國華人參政計劃成員張敬龍今日下午召開記者招待會，宣佈計劃參加歐洲議會選舉。張敬龍是2009年度戴安娜皇妃大獎之得獎者之一，現年十九歲，若參加選舉，預計將為歐洲議會選舉最年青的參選人，亦為首位參加該選舉之英國華人。

張敬龍是一名學生，父親是香港人，母親來自菲律賓。他十一歲時隨父母由香港移民到英國，起初並不習慣。他說：「移民到外地，既要積極融入社會，又不想丟下自身的傳統文化，很難一下子適應下來。」不過，他相信不同文化的人，只要互相尊重，也可以融洽地一起生活。

Spectrum Radio's DJ Steven Cheung is one of the winners at the presentation of the prestigious Princess Diana Memorial Award today. The award honours groups of exceptional young people in the UK and Steven is awarded for his work with the Youth Citizenship’s Commissioner’s Youth Advisory Board from the Ministry of Justice.

The Diana Certificate of Excellence Award recognises groups of young people aged 12-18 who have worked together to make their communities a better place to be. The Awards is presented by Tim Loughton MP, Shadow Minister for Children and Antony Steen MP. The ceremony is also attended by Diana Award Ambassador and music legend, Robin Gibb CBE and Diana Award Patron, Esther Rantzen CBE.
